Volcanic Light Pillar in Iceland
APOD 1.5

This picture is just awe inspiring, it shows a light pillar that is coming from a volcano named Bárðarbunga in Iceland. This light pillar is created from a volcanic eruption, and the color is red because of the reflection with the atmospheric ice crystals. This picture has some annotations that you might know: Hercules and Corona Borealis, however what really interests me is the amazing colors that this picture offers. It was what almost looks like a laser coming down from space with ominous green clouds ( that are auroras) surrounding it. Doesn't it look just like one of those space movies!
