Falcon 9 rocket launch and landing
This may look like a mortar or a shooting star, however this is a capsule filled with supplies that went to the International Space Station, shot on September 21. The contrast of the night sky with the flare just makes this photo look a lot more spectacular than what it should be. The bright flare you see are the rocket's firing trail after the first stage of launch, then the second stage commences and you can see it near the center with the spacecraft there as well. This to me looks like one of those space rays, like the Death Star in Star Wars shooting Alderaan, one of the Star Wars's planets.
